兩只頑皮的壞老鼠阿禿和阿灰，有天趁著小娃娃小露和小珍不在，跑到漂亮的娃娃屋子里搗蛋。他們敲碎了石膏做的火腿，弄倒了小罐子，把小珍的衣服丟到窗外，還把小露枕頭里的羽毛掏出來……。兩個娃娃回家后，面對亂七八糟的家里，只能苦笑和瞪眼，一句話也沒說。不過，后來兩只老鼠再也不會這樣淘氣了，因為過意不去的她們，不僅賠償了她們打破的東西，而且每天一大清早，阿灰還會去打掃娃娃屋子呢。

Beatrix Potter is regarded as one of the world's best-loved children's authors of all time. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, published by Frederick Warne in 1902, she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs. Tiggy-winkle, Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddle-duck, Mr. Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood.
